Vintage 1948 Jaeger-LeCoultre Powermatic 14k Solid Gold 481 Caliber Silver Dial

  

A rare and beautiful example of a first-edition Jaeger-LeCoultre Powermatic in 14k Solid Gold set around a nearly pristine silver dial. This handsome watch has only had one owner and has been kept in a climate-controlled safe for nearly 40 years. Fully serviced 2 years ago, the automatic movement works perfectly. Overall, the watch is in amazing condition, with few blemishes.

The solid gold shows light wear, which should easily polish up, if desired. The one notable scratch on the case can barely be felt with a fingernail. The crystal does show some nicks under bright light conditions and close observation. The band is crocodile, but is starting to separate in one spot, and could likely use replacement. I have included many photos under different lighting conditions, so you have a better idea of how it actually presents.
